Tonight’s Game

The Rangers face-off against the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at the Wachovia Center (7:00 p.m.), in a matchup between Atlantic Division rivals. The Blueshirts currently rank third in the Atlantic Division standings, and sixth in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 24-19-7 (55 pts.). The Rangers enter tonight's contest having defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning, 8-2, Tuesday at Madison Square Garden, and have now recorded a point in 14 of their last 17 contests (10-3-4). The eight goals were the most recorded by the Blueshirts in a game since they tallied eight on Jan. 23, 2002 vs. Boston (8-4). The Flyers enter the contest with a 24-21-3 (51 pts.) record, and rank ninth in the Eastern Conference. Following tonight's game, the Rangers will face-off against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Bell Centre (7:00 p.m.), in a matchup between Original Six opponents. That game will be televised live on PIX 11 in New York.
